Early
Years Programs
These programs focus on
parents and children 0-6 years of age. They aim to contribute to healthy
childhood development from conception to school age. They also promote
bonding and positive parent-child interaction early in life.
Breastfeeding Support Group
A Certified Lactation Consultant provides
breastfeeding information, advice and support to expectant and new
mothers.
Self-Care Support Group
A registered therapist provides counseling
and group support to new mothers adjusting to motherhood.
Esso Math
An interactive program for parents and
their children, 3-6 years old, aimed at developing early math concepts and
skills in children by participating in fun games and activities.
Make the Connection
A 9-week program that helps mothers gain
more knowledge about healthy interaction with their child. It nurtures
language development, and boosts self-confidence.
OHIP for Children
Staff at BCCHC will help new parents
complete their child’s OHIP application form. We also participate in
advocacy and education around OHIP issues.
Incredible Years
This 12-week program teaches parents the
importance of playing with your child, praising your child for positive
behaviour, and setting reasonable limits.
Nobody’s Perfect
This 6-week program is for
parents of young children, 2-6 years old, on raising healthy children. .
School Readiness
This program promotes great
ways for preschoolers to prepare for school life, and teaches parents the
importance of building early foundations for reading and writing.
Playing and Learning with your Toddler
Parents have a chance to sing nursery
rhymes, and play fun games with their toddlers, 10-24 months old. These
activities will help children use their imagination and develop good
listening skills.
